This unique photovoltaic solar installation for direct self-consumption on a poultry farm has some peculiarities. Apart from being a 250 kW self-consumption system with a 351 kW solar field, and having a grid connection equal to the nominal power of the inverters, that is, 250 kW, it is supported by a 450 kVA generator. During periods of high consumption, which may exceed the contracted power, the generator will start up to supply, in a synchronized manner, the additional power required by the installation. This means that without having to increase the power term beyond the contracted 250 kW, we can have a power that doubles these values. Thus, since what we need is a lot of power for air conditioning in the buildings, only in the summer, with this system we will avoid contracting a very high power term, which we would have to pay throughout the year.
The self-consumption photovoltaic solar supply also has special protection to protect the generator from reverse currents generated by the self-consumption photovoltaic solar field, in this way we will not have problems with everything working at the same time, without interference between one supply or another.
