ISOLATED PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR INSTALLATION IN HOUSING AND WAREHOUSES
This is a photovoltaic solar installation that initially supplied energy for a long time to a house where the owners of the current wineries live.
Years ago, we installed an installation for their farmhouse in the middle of the countryside; completely isolated and with specific energy needs. But over time, the owners of the house decided to dedicate themselves to viticulture, setting up a winery not far from the house to produce wine from their vineyards in the Tremp area. They asked us to carry out the transformation, from a domestic supply to an industrial supply, with different needs and methods. So we set to work designing the isolated photovoltaic solar installation so that it could serve not only the house but also the wineries, trying to preserve as much as possible the useful elements that could be used from the domestic installation, which, as I said, had been operating for a long time to the great satisfaction of the owners.
Technology has changed a lot in the last 18 years, so it was impossible to reuse the batteries; inverters could be paralleled, and the panels could also be used in the new installation. However, I’m not a fan of reusing old equipment to create new arrays, because I believe that most of the time it’s more expensive than starting from scratch. In this case, I didn’t follow my instinct and tried to make the most of the equipment the family had used for decades. And the end result wasn’t bad at all. The generator remains the same. The old panels were used to cover the needs of part of the installation. The 10 kVA single-phase inverter was combined with two other units with identical specifications to create a 30 kVA three-phase supply, enough to meet the entire energy needs of the house and the cellar. Of course, the batteries in the stand-alone solar photovoltaic installation are lithium, and the control and monitoring systems are state-of-the-art.
Elements of the installation:
-
-
47 solar panels of 585 Wp
-
A 20 kW grid inverter
-
3 isolated inverters of 10kVA each
-
60 kW of lithium batteries
-
Management, control and monitoring systems
